In theory, this should prove to be useful. The key phrase used here is "in theory"...

Hellooooo livejournal. Did you miss me?

I've been a very very bad girl, and neglecting you. I've had you for way too long (8 years...can you friggin' believe it?) to abandon you like that. I've been making with the tweets lately because I find it necessary to talk a lot. AND TO THINK! I used to loathe twitter with the fire and fury of hell. Fancy how things change...

**note to self...do BOTH..it's not like you're not online ALL. THE. TIME. ANNNYWAYS...**

It's really Skins' fault that I'm back. I can't help it that I'm beyond help with my obsession with it at the moment, and January & Season 4 can't come fast enough. I've found this WEALTH of Skins information, fanfic, fanart, and every kind of goodies you could possibly think of riiight here on lj.

Truth be told, I never stopped reading my friends list, but like a slacking jackass, I didn't update. Booooooo.

Let's work on this, shall we? Besides, you're always around when I need to go back and look at what a ridiculous emo little bitch I used to be at 16. =)

So, it's not quiiite Spring yet, but it's close enough.

It was extremely nice this afternoon, and the cherry trees are starting to bloom.

Photobucket

They just started, but they're pretty already.

Anywho, my exciting news for the afternoon is that Phantom had her kittens!

Photobucket

I know she had at least four. We left her be for a while, and by the time we checked on her again, she had them all underneath her so we couldn't see how many she actually ended up with.

At this point, we're on the way to being the "crazy cat people". We have Zeebie, Jupi, and Whisper inside, Phantom outside, and 4+ kittens. As much as I'd love to keep all of them, that's freaking EIGHT cats. They'll eat us out of the house.

February 22 - We slept in a bit on Sunday morning. When I say "sleep in" I actually mean until 8:30ish. The day was supposed to be our "play it by ear" day. I had a few things that I definitely wanted to do, but other than those few things, the rest of the day was completely open. We got ready and dragged ourselves out of the room around 9:30 or so.

First order of business - head to the Polynesian!

My first "must do" for the day was to finally try "Tonga Toast" which you can get at the Polynesian. I didn't feel like making a reservation for the Kona Cafe or anything because I didn't know what time we would be getting up, Conveniently enough, you can get Tonga Toast from Captain Cook's as well which doesn't need a reservation because it's a "quick service" restaurant.

I ordered the tonga toast and a coffee for myself while mom got the kid's french toast sticks and coffee. While we were waiting for our food to be ready, we got our coffee. Sure, adding sweetener and creamer sounds fine and dandy if your table doesn't wobble. Our table wobbled, and I'm the world's biggest klutz. Needless to say, I spilled like half of our first coffees all over the table. It took a HUGE stack of napkins to clean it up. Oops...

How was my first Tonga Toast experience you ask?  )

February 20 - I went in to work from 7-11. Somehow, it sounded better in my head to only use a half a day of vacation the day we were traveling. It was a little crazy that morning, and no matter how much I tried to finish up and clean my desk off before I left, it just didn't happen. My fellow trainers got me the cutest little basket for my birthday. It was done like a flower bouquet, but it was made out of chocolate. Additionally, they signed my card with an awesome metallic silver Sharpie that I MEANT to bring with me for character autographs, but I forgot. DOH!

Anywho, my mom met me at my house a little after 11, and I proceeded to change out of my scrubs and pack up the last few things that I had used that morning. I was lovey dovey with Martina for a few, and then my mom and I were off. We only got a few miles across town because we had to stop at her work because one of her coworkers had birthday stuff for us. I FINALLY got the Mmmbop music card. It only took me a few years to get, but I'm glad someone was finally able to find it. I was so excited about it. My mom got a Mickey Mouse Club music card that fit the situation very well as well as a basket FULL of all sorts of goodies for our trip. (Snacks, Water, Gum, Chapstick, Aspirin, Sunscreen, Trail Mix, etc. etc.)

We had lunch at a Wendy's in McDonough, and then I got a text from Martina that made me a little crazy, but not too crazy. You see, I had made a Kim Possible t shirt on Zazzle that I had intended to wear on my birthday at Epcot just in time to try the new Kim Possible attraction there. I watched the tracking information on it EVERY DAY that week knowing that I would cut it VERY close. I wasn't sure if I would get it before I actually left. Needless to say, it showed up at my door a half an hour after we left. How much does that suck? A lot... but oh well.

So, then we were on the road! The drive from Georgia to Central Florida is not a very exciting one, and I usually end up doing it through the night. It's really kind of strange to see that particular stretch of road in the day light. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful driving day. We were listening to a little "Natasha Beddingfield - Pocket Full of Sunshine" when my mom noticed the car that she had been behind for a very long time get over into the center lane all of a sudden. Next thing we know, we see a large black SUV coming up behind us very quickly. So, she proceeds to get over thinking that was why the car in front of us had also gotten over. That was the exact moment the police lights on the SUV came on. CRAP! Apparently, he was on the overpass and had clocked her going 17 over the speed limit. So, that was the second great thing to happen so far on our trip. The best part about the whole thing however, was the fact that we had taken Mike's Accord because it has better gas mileage, and mom accidentally turned the windshield wipers on when she pulled over, and she couldn't get them to turn off the entire time she was talking to the cop. Oops...LoL

Mom had me drive once it started to get dark, and we hit the Orlando area a little after 8 pm. I-4 welcomed me back with traffic, traffic, and more traffic just like I remembered when I used to drive it every day. I have a love/hate/mostly hate relationship with I-4. We made it to the hotel, and I checked us into our room. We were very pleased with our room, and considering I didn't pay a whole lot, this was a great relief. We unpacked and got settled into the room, and then made our way across the street to the Crossroads shopping center for a Quiznos dinner. We popped into Gooding's for a few things (read: COFFEE), and then headed back to the hotel to rest for the rest of the evening.

February 21 - MY BIRTHDAY! We woke up at the lovely hour of 7am, and got ready to start our first Disney day. We made it to Epcot somewhere around 8:45, and I was all sorts of excited! It was a chilly morning, and I was wearing the Disney hoodie I had gotten back in October. It was rather handy. Of course I didn't even make it across the parking lot before I started taking pictures because I'm OBSESSED. I got my FREE birthday ticket (...yes...Disney actually paid for me to go...how awesome is that?), and got my "Happy Birthday Ashley" button which I immediately put on. We entered the park right as it opened at 9. We ran into Chip and Dale as we came in, and they totally fought over me. In fact, Chip tried to drag me away by himself. They even wrote "Happy Birthday" in my autograph book. It was a great way to start the day.

Soo.... I wanted to go to New York several years ago to see "Dog Sees God" because her holiness Eliza Dushku was in it. I'm sure I would have been a quivering pile of goo due to being only feet away from her.

Needless to say... I never made it, but NOW...oh now it's in Toronto with like HALF OF THE FREAKING CAST OF DEGRASSI. Oh yea! Wonderful, right?

I. Want. To. Go.

It won't happen. It's too freaking far. I just spent a lot of money on Disney, and Martina's going to New York next month.

Fuck you, Dog Sees God. I didn't want to see you anyways...except I did.

So, I'm back, and I had a fantastic birthday/Disney trip.

I got that crazy itch to move back to Florida again. It's crazy. I'm aware.

I just got through looking through all 556 pictures, and it hardly seems like enough.

I'm vegging tonight, but sometime this week I'll do the full recap.

We got to the studio a little after 6 pm. We parked, and headed to the lobby to wait for a girl from the boards, Nicole who was meeting us there. She found us, and we proceeded to ask the security guard in the lobby how to get up to the Star 94 studios. He then told us that the studios were in the pent house, and if we didn't have a special key, the elevators wouldn't go up that far.

So, we waited around for a few more minutes, and then some 20 somethings came into the lobby. The security guard looks over to us and says "you guys were going to Star 94, right?" We said that we were, and then he proceeded to tell us to follow those people up the elevator. It was all sorts of weird in the elevator with them because basically we just elevator hopped and freeloaded on their elevator ride.

We got up to the top floor, and they were let in the door by letting someone on the other side of the intercom know they were Darik's *the DJ* interns. A few minutes later, Darik himself came out and was like "what are you guys doing? Let me guess...you're here for the Veronicas." He said that he thought we could get in a lot of trouble for being in the building without real permission. He said he didn't see the issue, but that his boss could have a problem with it and so on and so forth. He was going to find out if it was ok if we stayed.

So, we wait a few agonizingly awkward minutes. A lot of people were leaving for the evening, and every time they walked by we got the "what are you doing here" glare. Another guy came out, and said that we were going to have to wait in the lobby for an answer. He escorts us down. We wait a few more minutes, and then the security guard who didn't even approach us when we were waiting initially, came over and said that we were "uninvited" and that we had to leave. He stared us down during the entire walk to the elevator, and it was back down to the parking garage for us.

We waited for a while trying to figure out what to do while listening to Darik as he came on the air. Of course he just had to rub it in that the girls were going to be on the show that night. We waited some more and were trying to decide if we were actually trespassing at that point.

Nicole called some friends of hers that were on their way and they informed her that the girls were a few blocks away. They were apparently right behind them on their way there. Needless to say, when her friends got there, we went to meet them and saw the girls pull up in their car immediately after. We waved and walked over to say hi. They were super surprised that we were there, and they convinced the station to let us inside.

We got to be in the studios during the whole interview process, and you can actually see most of us in the videos on the Star 94 website. We were in there for around an hour or so, and got to talk with the girls for a little bit and take pictures. Sometime during the time we were plotting to get in, I was thinking of random "assistant jobs" I could say that I had if I needed an excuse if asked why I was there. I somehow ended up with the conclusion that I could be Jess' personal hair "fluffer". When I told her that on the way up to the studio, she said it was a good idea, and that she really needed a hair fluffer.

It was definitely a surreal experience to be kicked out of somewhere, to turn right around and be escorted back in with the artists themselves. It took every "mature" bone in my body not to stick my tongue out at the security guard the second time we came through and say "neener neener." Either way, it turned out to be a great night.

Videos are here...and pictures are immediately to follow...
