Ode to Muse...

So, I saw Muse in concert for the first time this past Saturday. I've loved Muse since I first heard them back in 2004. However, I've always had one of those "wrong place/wrong time" situations when it came to their shows.

The only way I can really try to describe their music is that it's a full on sonic assault. It's meaty, but ethereal at the same time if that makes any sense at all? To put it in very simple terms - they are amazing.

The concert was no different. Musically, it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to, and by far, the most visually stunning of any.

I managed to snag a 2nd row spot on the floor, and despite having four people kicked out before the show even started and dealing with a LOT of drunk assholes, it was beyond words. Hoooonestly. I can't even begin to describe the experience.

I know that one shouldn't cry at a rock show, but I was so emotionally moved during "United States of Eurasia" that I teared up. SHUT UP. Don't judge me. It was intense.

So, as to not further butcher the amazingness that is Muse, I'll post some videos from the show that I found on youtube:

my favourite muse song is "knights of cydonia", though i like other stuff too. i would imagine their concerts to be just as you described. their music just grabs you in this weird way. at first, i remember not knowing if i liked them or not and it took a while for them to grow on me, but their music is just mystical.

i'm glad you had a good time, despite the drunk assholes :P and YOU GO GIRL for tearing up. i tear up at like, all the concerts i go to because at least one song gets to me xD

I totally loved them from the moment I heard them. I heard them for the first time when I was living in Florida and commuting to Disney every day. The highlight of my drive was always catching "Hysteria" on the radio, and hoping I didn't get a ticket because the song makes me speed like a crazy lady.

And good to know we can be musically moved saps together! What can I say..I'm emotional. LoL

I've always been impressed by how Matt Belamy always seems to sing directly from his soul. So much power in his voice. It blows my mind, really.

You know...I don't think I've ever heard anyone say something quite like that about them, but you're absolutely right!

Smart girl, you are!
